Family Life

Rights and duties within the family according to Islam.

The place of the family in Islam

The family is the fundamental pillar of Islamic society. Allah has made the family a place of serenity, love and mercy. It is in this framework that values, education and faith are transmitted.

"O mankind! Fear your Lord who created you from a single soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from them many men and women. Fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and fear the severing of family ties."

— Quran, An-Nisa' (4:1)

No, there is no obedience to the created in disobedience to the Creator. However, refuse gently and respectfully, without insulting them or cutting ties.
